1. GNOME Translation Contributions

I have actively contributed to the translation efforts in the GNOME project, focusing on the Marathi language. GNOME is a widely used desktop environment for Unix-like operating systems, and my contributions involve making the software accessible to Marathi-speaking users.

Accomplishments:

  • Translated key interface elements, menus, and dialogs into Marathi.
  • Ensured linguistic and cultural accuracy in translations.
  • Collaborated with other translators to maintain consistency across the project.

Coordination Role

As a coordinator, I played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the translation team. This involved organizing and facilitating collaboration among team members to achieve our collective goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinated translation tasks and deadlines.
  • Provided guidance to new contributors and addressed their queries.
  • Conducted regular team meetings to discuss progress and challenges.

I started to work on some Python packages in Debian. A full list of packages I’m involved somehow is vissible on my DDPO site. Expect more packages to see on that site once I’m more familiar with the Debian packaging process and also more familiar with the Python language in detail.
